Strongly recommend for a brief stopover

Charming room, convenient location, with friendly staff who provided great recommendations for local dining and activities during our stay.

The La Pensione Hotel features a lovely little courtyard that provided a peaceful escape amidst the bustling city. Its proximity to numerous restaurants and shops made it convenient for me to explore without long walks.

Could improve accessibility features for seniors.

Small yet well-appointed room with great shower pressure and views of the bay. The location is ideal for exploring local Mediterranean food spots and is just a couple of blocks from the waterfront. However, the underground parking is a challenge due to tight spaces, and the elevator could use some improvement as it was slow at times. The pillows were also an odd shape, making it difficult to find comfort while sleeping.

Location is fantastic. tons of great restaurants nearby. Our room was very small with no space for luggage.

The egg station at Farmers Table near La Pensione was an absolute game-changer! Plus, the vibe of Little Italy was unbeatable, with gems like Salt and Straw just a stone's throw away. 24-hour reception was super helpful too!

The parking situation was confusing. we couldn't park at the hotel due to the farmers market, and ended up far away. They said our car wouldn't fit, which was not cool.

I enjoyed my stay in the cozy room, which had a modern bathroom and a mini-fridge. The location was perfect, just a short walk to local restaurants and shops. The staff was friendly and helpful. I appreciated the luggage storage service.

My previous visit to san diego was good, but this time everything was just perfect. the room was clean and walking distance to great restaurants made it even better. i also enjoyed the cheerful vibe of the farmers market right outside the hotel.

i had a lovely stay at la pensione! the location was fantastic, within walking distance to numerous attractions, including the shoreline. the room was very clean, which made my family feel comfortable. the free street parking was a nice bonus, especially since we didn’t have issues during the farmers market. the peaceful courtyard added a nice touch to our experience.

Perfect Little Italy Base!

Super convenient spot! We strolled to the USS Midway and the farmer's market right outside. Loved grabbing coffee and pastries each morning—such a nice perk. The room was comfy, but the bed was creaky. Made it tough to get a good night's sleep with the street noise, but what can you do? Enjoyed our stay!
